Ceramic, granite, porcelain, stone, glassy ceramics, concrete and marble tiles and terrazzo floor cover applications require thermal expansion joints profiles to absorb natural movements. The temperature difference causes expansion and shrinkage in water or moisture coatings thus, all the tiles shrink with drying and cooling. Another reason, dynamic structural loads cause vibration and large movements in the tile applications. If expansion joint is not used in tile, ceramic, granite or marble applications, internal stresses due to expansion or internal shrinkage can cause many problems such as, obvious cracks and breakage. Therefore, joint design extremely significant for the life of the coatings.
